1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of HouseOps (“HouseOps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the HouseOps mobile application, this website, or contact support. HouseOps is a visual documentation, labeling and maintenance tool for home systems.
Contact for privacy questions: support@houseops.pro.
2. Information handled by HouseOps
Home passport content stored locally
You may enter or import home names and addresses, photos, equipment details, labels, locations, serial numbers, readings, notes, maintenance records, procedures and attached documents. This content is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a HouseOps account system or cloud passport service in the current release, and we do not receive this content merely because you use the app.
Exports and shared copies
When you explicitly export, print or share a passport, HTML/PDF document, label sheet, registry or backup, the selected content is sent to the destination you choose through your device. A recipient receives an independent copy. HouseOps does not control copies after you send or save them.
Purchase and subscription information
Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. HouseOps uses RevenueCat to determine subscription status, provide entitlements and restore purchases. RevenueCat may process an app-generated purchaser identifier, store and product identifiers, purchase status, transaction and entitlement information, and related technical information needed to provide those functions. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
Crash diagnostics
If error reporting is enabled in the distributed build, HouseOps uses PostHog Error Tracking to receive limited technical diagnostics such as app version, operating system and device model, stack trace, de-identified action context and related network metadata. HouseOps does not enable session replay or attach screenshots. We do not intentionally send home addresses, photos, passport contents, labels, notes or serial numbers to error reporting.
Product analytics
If product analytics is enabled in the distributed build, HouseOps uses PostHog to measure a small set of explicitly defined milestones, such as completing onboarding, creating the first property, equipment record, zone, photo and maintenance schedule, adding three photo markers, finalizing or handing off a passport, viewing the paywall, purchasing and restoring a subscription. PostHog may receive an anonymous app-installation identifier and basic app, device and network metadata needed to process those events.
HouseOps does not identify you to PostHog and disables person profiles, automatic screen and lifecycle tracking, session replay, surveys, feature flags and push-notification tracking. We do not intentionally send home names or addresses, photos, equipment names, locations, labels, notes, contacts, documents or serial numbers to product analytics.
Support communications and website data
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. This static website does not use a HouseOps account, advertising pixels or HouseOps analytics. A hosting provider may process standard server logs such as IP address, requested URL, browser type and timestamp for security and delivery.
3. How we use information
We use information only as needed to:
- provide local passport, import/export, printing, maintenance and notification features;
- validate subscription access, process purchases and restore entitlements;
- diagnose crashes, prevent abuse and improve reliability;
- respond to support, privacy and legal requests;
- comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Use.
HouseOps does not sell your personal information, use home passport content for advertising, or use it to train artificial-intelligence models.
4. When information is shared
We may make information available to the following categories of recipients, only for the described purpose:
- Apple and Google, when they process app distribution, purchases, refunds and store-account functions;
- RevenueCat, for subscription status, entitlements, purchase validation and restoration. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy;
- PostHog, only when analytics and error reporting are configured, for the limited anonymous product events and technical diagnostics described above. See PostHog Privacy Policy;
- hosting and email providers, to deliver this website and support communications;
- authorities or advisers, when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or address security and fraud.
Your chosen export or share recipient is not our service provider. You decide what to send and to whom.
5. Retention and deletion
Local passport content
Local content remains on your device until you delete records in HouseOps, delete all local HouseOps data, or uninstall the app. Backups, exports, print files and recipient copies remain wherever you saved or sent them and must be deleted separately.
Purchase, analytics and diagnostic data
Apple, Google, RevenueCat, PostHog and hosting providers retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations. We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain a support history, protect the service and meet legal obligations.
HouseOps currently has no user accounts. If account creation or cloud sync is introduced later, this Policy and the product’s deletion controls will be updated before those features are launched.
6. Your privacy choices
- Delete local data: use More → Data & backup → Delete local data in HouseOps.
- Remove app access: change camera, photo-library or notification permissions in your device settings.
- Choose what to share: review the preview before exporting, printing or handing off a passport.
- Manage subscriptions: use your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings; Restore Purchases is available in HouseOps.
- Ask about vendor-linked data: email support@houseops.pro. We may need a store transaction or app purchaser identifier, but we will not ask you to send your home passport.
See the practical instructions on our Data Choices page.
7. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, including minimizing remote data, limiting diagnostic content and relying on platform purchase security. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device, backups and exported files with suitable access controls.
Service providers may process technical or purchase information in countries other than yours. Their privacy terms describe their locations and safeguards.
8. Children
HouseOps is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account service. If you believe a child sent personal information to support, contact us so we can address it.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when HouseOps features, vendors or legal requirements change. We will change the effective date above and provide additional notice in the app when a material change requires it.
10. Contact
Questions, requests or complaints can be sent to support@houseops.pro.
